My guide, scout and especially the cook were wonderful. I had better food on this trek than in any of the restaurants I visited in the 10 days in Ethiopia.

I visited Ethiopia thanks to an inspirational article I was sent about half a year back about the rock-hewn churches of Tigray. I was not disappointed when I visited them, but for me the highlight of the trip was trekking in the Simien mountains.

I would heartily endorse anyone who is physically able to undertake this journey of 2-8 days with a credible tour company (suggest Eskinder of Highway Tours).
