If you are only interested in sight seeing, you might visit the park by car upto Chenek. You need minimum two days.

If you are a trekker and wish to deeply experience the park, you might need 4 – 5 days. For example my guests have trekked for five days and they had an exciting experience.

Also if you want to make it upto Ras Dashen you might need 7 – 8 days. Few and exceptional trekkers make it upto Lasta mountains (Lalibela) which could take them 13 to 15 days.

Trips could be tailored to travelers’ exact budget; and if organized by experienced operators, would not cost much. Also one will enjoy it most as well as reduce cost if travels with a group.

At this time weather could be foggy and rainy which won’t let you enjoy the beautiful scenery and the wildlife especially the endemic Walia Ibex.

But after the rainy season ends, especially the months September to December, you will enjoy the scenery so beautiful and green.

Among your personal items, especially if you are trekker bring with you good trekking shoes, walking sticks, first aid kits, sun screen lotions, scarp, sleeping bags should you camp and your personal items.

Also don’t forget your cameras.
