Ethiopia is not an African destination that most British travellers consider, us included. However our daughter persuaded us to meet up with her to tour the Northern Highlands for 2 weeks and we enjoyed our trip tremendously.
On Thursday September 04, 2008 the ancient axumite obelisk which was taken by the Italian fascist dictator Benito Mussolini, was returned to the original place from where Mussolini took it.
The world has its seven wonders naming the rest ‘the eighth.’ However, I would put the churches at Lalibela in Northern Ethiopia in the first row of the Eighth Wonders of the World. A perspective by Dr. Hanna Rubinkowska, Warsaw University.
